A rare (for this time of the year) daylight POED runs west through Kennebunk, Maine passing the old B&M depot with a proper leader. They were running on M427's time slot. I'd come down taking a gamble of a potential M427 with a CSX SD40-2 leader (which did end up trailing anyway) but a blue C40-8 works just fine too!
A big POED gets underway with MEC 7518 - MEC 7835 - MEC 7609 and 118 cars seen rolling through Pine Point in Scarborough, Maine next to the old spur for a former customer in the B&M days.
M426 with MEC 7518 - MEC 7542 lead M426 over the Merrimack River from Bradford into Haverhill on an overcast Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving. They had set out some cars from the headpin and now had intermodal up front followed by about 50-60 mixed freight, including a long block of eighteen empty cement cars for Dragon Cement in Thomaston, Maine. M426 would meet their counterpart M427 just up the line at CPF-273 in Plaistow, NH.

POJust after crossing the bridge over Rt. 1, POAY with MEC 7518 - MEC 7727 - MEC 7528 - MEC 5973 approaches the old station building in Biddeford ME, now a sports bar.
MEC 7518 sits in the yard at Rotterdam Jct.
BFPO with MEC 7518 - MEC 7627 - MEC 7517 and 74 slurry tanks approaches Winnock's Neck Rd. in Scarborough at dusk.
It will set out about half its train the siding next to it. The grain facility in Ayer cannot fit the whole train.

The Loaded Grain Train adds even more covered hoppers to the scene at Fitchburg Yard. The grain train will set off about half its train on siding next to it.
Note the 4th unit making a ton of smoke!
Nice to see the unit in the lead.
Note the strange signal bridge to the left. The far left signal controls train coming off the Wachusett Station track. The middle signal controls the switch with the station track and Main #2. The far right signal serves as the distant signal to the next interlocking for Main #1.
