A CSX Gentilly yard crew uses a GP40-2/GP30 slug set of power to drag a train from the UP into the yard. The UP power was removed from the train by CSX hostlers earlier in the day. These CSX road slugs were not very common in New Orleans.

A classic GP30 mother and slug set look splendid in their navy blue livery as they head for Hamlet with southbound train F741 in tow.
Q439-13 moves west towards CP 5 with CSX ES44AH 735 leading an ex Conrail C40-8W and a mother-slug set.
2 former B & O units that look pretty good considering there age, with 2249 dating from 1962 and 6425 from 1978.
Almost 50 and stilll looking ready for that next call. Always thought that GP-30's were cool looking, even if it says road slug on the side.
The contemporary SD70MAC idles beside the one-of-a kind GP30 design from yesteryear. Both designs unique in respective ways.
Whether a fan of YN3 paint (Dark Future) or not, there can be little doubt that it surely rejuvenates an almost fifty year old one of a kind GP30 body.
