Second look at the dead line at Effingham IL
After coming out of Humboldt, the WC starts to make its way back up to New Brighton.
The WC comes out of Humboldt and starts to climb up the hill with a good sized train out of Humboldt.
The first WC transfer of 2008 heads up to the "R" yard at Northtown.
Keeping with tradition, we caught the first WC transfer of 2008 as it rolls into Northtown Yard. Now, just a little over a year later, CNs SD50F fleet no longer exists.
Pulling into the north end of the CN Yard at Champaign with IC Power trailing in the consist.
WC 6004 & IC 6051
R-916 known locally as the WC Transfer departs BNSF Northtown Yard with three nice IC SD40-2's. They will head back to New Brighton and pick up the rest of their train for outbound A-406.
Passing through Saint Anthony on the way East.
An almost matched set (except for the yellow stripe on the middle unit) departs Northtown for New Brighton and points east.
One...Two...Three... Yup, three original SD40s (and one SD40A) run the WC up to New Brighton with a decent sized train out of Northtown.
Not the most common lashup, but you can get lucky! Three vintage SD40s *now rebuilt* ride up the hill in near below zero weather.
Here is a rare sight. It's not often that you see an IC SD40-2 leading a train on the Canadian National.
