Built by EMD in February of 1973 as PC GP38-2 #8066, it moved over to the Conrail roster before being sent to the NS roster. According to a Railway Age article, after a rebuild in 2018, the prime mover had a major failure. NS was sold it to Metro East Industries (MEI) who did a major replacement and upgrade to GP38-3. |

According to Railway Age IHB “As for the paint scheme, I (IHB Mechanical Superintendent Michael Cunningham) am a United States Marine Corps veteran who appreciates everything that experience has led me toward. I am also appreciative of those service members that have come before me and those who will serve after." He came up with the idea to list the names of those IHB employrees who were veterans of all branches of the armed forces on the tall hood end of the loco. I wish I had zoomed in on the tall hood end to show the names. |
