UP 8440 leads this east bound freight (QNPICXP-2) on the UP Jeff City Sub. as it rolls through Pacific, Mo. The two CSX units are rebuilt SD40-2's, now designated as SD40-3's.

After the dispatcher allowing 11 and a BNSF freight to pull in front of it, UP 8440 holds at the red signal that guards the Columbia River Swing Bridge.
Amtrak 11 enters the block for a short stop at the Vancouver depot, while UP 8440, an empty autorack train holds back for a BNSF freight to cut ahead of it after exiting the South leg of the wye, and BNSF 2810 switches on the parallel track.
