The northbound empty grain train seen in a wide shot, now getting the power and a good length of train as it crosses Lincoln Av, and approaches Tahlequah St and the north end of the siding.
Sometimes youre just out when things get busy. After I got the oil train and grain train at Gentry, I figured the day was probably done. So it was a pleasant surprise to find the southbound just getting to Siloam as I rolled over the Cheri Whitlock bridge. The grain train pulled to the south end of the main, and this northbound empty grain train rolled into the picture.
Northbound empty grain train going away at Davidson Rd.
This view is from the old US 59 alignment that was bypassed when the new 4 lane was opened last year. Now I can take the shot without dodging 70 MPH feed trucks!!
The DPU of a southbound grain train rolls past a pasture full of steer, who appear unmoved by the long trains passage.
The DPU on the grain train rolls past the Hudson Foods feed mill north of Westville.
Just south of Chewie Rd, the reverse curve along US 59 straightens out, and we see the DPU of the grain train rolling around it at 30 MPH as it trails the 114 car train.
While he was stopped at Watts, I went back to check the DPU. Unfortunately for the guys going to Bakery Feeds, he didnt clear the crossing.

Sometimes, KCS would run a lite power move northbound, since the DPU's added to coal trains at Pittsburg would accumulate at Heavener. This one is making its way north after passing the Watts yard.
One all dressed up, the other still in its skivvies. The EMDs came from the plant already painted, while the GEs arrived in primer, and were painted as they had time. I recall when NS did the same thing, and there were a lot of "undecorated" units rolling around the system in the early years of the millennium. I like the painted power better, but, they all run!! These two are pushing a grain train south at the north end of Stilwell.
KCS 4781 leads a westbound manifest/intermodal (I believe the QJATL) through Richmond, TX.
A pair of Belles assists a southbound grain train at Wattr.
