CSX Railroad (CSX) 8481 - Rebuilt EMD SD40-2

The 8481 leads a southbound intermodal down Baker Hill. This location has changed greatly, with a defect detector being installed about where the locomotive is in early 2019.

Built January 1968 as PRR 6218.

After addressing an emergency application, Q384 trundles through VO at 1636.

A 200 car Q384 with 9 engines on the front blasts east at 1344.

All in one piece, S388 thunders east at Woodbourne at 1731.

Built January 1968 as Penn Central SD45 6218.

After a failed attempt at picking up a trio of other engines in Woodbourne, S388 heads lite back to the rest of their train at Nesh at 1502.

One of nine engines on train Q352-16. This is an SD40-2 in a SD45 body. Former CR/PC/PRR 6218 built in January 1968.

The third engine on train Q352-24 has a remarkable history. Built as PRR 6218 SD45 in January 1968. Later became PC 6218 SD45 and CR 6218 SD45. Rebuilt by M-K into an SD40-2 for CSX.

N&W 611 stalled and went into the Bixby siding near Advance, NC. Rescue units from Winston-Salem came out which were to lead the train anyway down the Winston-Salem Southbound to Wadesboro, NC.
