It's 7:48am on Thursday May 23, 2013 as this unknown eastbound CSX mixed freight skirts along the outside of New Castle Yard via the ex-P&LE main in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Power for the train is CSXT #537 (AC4400CW), CSXT #590 (AC4400CW), and CSXT #8354 (SD40-2). Jim Pope and I were on a trip to the Altoona area, and this was our first stop on the drive out.

Train 412 rolls across Martins Creek with an eclectic mix of power. This train, counterpart 413, and 12T/13T were the most likely trains on this route to get unusual power, as todays 412 shows. It has 69 cars in tow, some of which will eventually arrive at Linwood on the ex Southern.
