Rock Island 4506 is ex-CNW 4160, nee-CRIP 1266.

This locomotive was used by the Chicago and Northwestern, and languished in the ex-C&NW yard at Janesville, WI for many years after the UP takeover. It arrived at IRM in 2008 still as CNW 4160 and was quickly repaired to operating condition; and restored to its Rock Island appearance a few years later.
The track going right to left across the bottom of the picture stub-ends about a foot beyond the diamond crossing with the track that 4506 is on. It serves as a headroom track for switching the shop buildings.

IT #1605 follows Rock Island #4506 North to Central Ave. before going there separate ways.
