Still there after all those years!
When the eastbound passed we started to hear the rumble and horn of a westbound train rushing our way. BNSF 6089 leads a westbound intermodel out of Wenona. This would be the final train of the evening. A total of 23 today, so we caught less than 20 on the Transcon which is very unusual for such a busy railroad. The longest day of the year ended up being more like the shortest day of summer do to all the rain. If it wouldnt have been for all the cloud cover that evening we might have been able to stay out longer but it just got too dark. That brings the total number of trains to 67 for the trip. Tomorrow we head out to Galesburg following the Transcon from Wenona to there. Hopefully there are more trains tomorrow!
This was a freshly repainted and overhauled BNSF SD75M trailing on the MEM-KCK train at Turners, MO!
