Amtrak F40 No. 250
In April, 1994, Amtrak "San Diegan" #583 arrives at the Irvine, California, station amid construction of the new platforms required for the upcoming second mainline. (With just a single track through the station, though, the signage indicating "Track 1" is overkill.) This was a time of rapid expansion for this line, with double-tracking, new stations and increased service all occurring simultaneously.

Amtrak F40PH 250 leads #14, the westbound (northbound) Coast Starlight through the S-curve just south of Guadalupe, CA heading for the next stop at San Luis Obispo on August 19, 1992.
On the Milwaukee Road
AMTK 250 is the trailing unit on Train No. 1, the Westbound Sunset Limited - seen climbing the Huey P. Long bridge.
