Very full service pit today!
On Sunday December 4, 2022 Amtrak 48 "Lake Shore Limited" had a Norfolk Southern leader. A computer failure on AMTK 129 somewhere around Elkhart, IN during the night and not only lost power but also the ability to control AMTK 111. Norfolk Southern provided a rescue locomotive which was doing most of the work with AMTK 111 providing head end power for the train.

The train is seen passing through CP 293 on the CSX Syracuse Terminal Subdivision.
with a breakdown somewhere before Cleveland, this NS lead 48. A freight engine leading AMTK 48 hasnt happened in well over 7-8 years

Date Unknown. But, it is nice to see a heritage diner in 2006.

As the Vermonter prepares to head west the wesbtbound Lake Shore Limited appears.
He will reverse direction and then head west on the CSX main. The practice ended a little over year from when this picture was taken when the Vermonter was re-routed to the Connecticut River Line.
