BNSF 5457 heads east in the late afternoon
Running in last position is #4309 with the string of spine cars following as it heads north on the former ATSF track. Note the Amtrak loading platform between the two former ATSF tracks. New plans do away with the Joliet Union Station serving as the Amtrak loading station which will be moved farther north.
About 15 minutes after both trains 1 & 2 have cleared the tracks, BNSF #4492 heads north as train #3 of the afternoon with its string of spine cars.
I needed a couple more minutes to get to the spot I really wanted.

A BNSF ethanol train waits in a siding for a late running Texas Eagle to pass north before continuing on for the Gulf coast. Although hard to tell from the heat distortion, another C44/9W is bringing up the rear as the DPU. The bridge cutting the train in half is US-67.
