All the power, six units worth, on this 100 car northbound empty is in front, possibly because some of it is in tow power being returned to Pittsburg for another trip over the Heavener Sub on later trains.

The DPU on the H train is this still unrepainted SD70ACe from the first order.

The DPUs on the coal train roll past on old metal barn north of Westville. There were, up til recently, rows of hay bales next to the barn. Guess the cows got hungry.

The DPUs from both trains meet just north of the Ark 12 overpass. The empty trains a lot of times get only one unit, and sometimes dont get any, with all the power up front. The current practice on loaded trains is to run them 2x3 on the Heavener Sub, so we have a pair of KCS units tacked on behind the BNSF DPU that came from Wyoming.

In 2007, KCS bought a fleet of covered hoppers for grain service, all painted in a variation of the "Belle" scheme on their new diesels. For a while, these train sets ran as units, and it was common to see a solid 100 car train of these new cars. Heres one rolling south with 59 loads just south of Decatur.

I20 runs as I-DAAT-2 via KCS ( Dallas, Tx. to Atlanta, Ga. 2nd section )

A northbound empty gon train rolls past Deer Creek Rd south of Noel as the sun gets lower in the sky. It and another northbound will meet a southbound there.

When I saw this train coming, I saw this 4th out, thinking I hadn't shot a gray KCS ACe before, I kept trying to get a good shot and settled with this. Later on, I look through my roster and find that I have shot a gray KCS ACe before, this one. Was back in 2010 in Elk River, MN, leading a grain train.
