Four road units and two ex-Milwaukee switchers were the prizes I bagged on a visit to Humbolt Yard this day. The fact that "bandit" units still can be found in 2011 is one reason why I like the Canadian Pacific better than the Canadian National!

What can I say?!
after stopping at the crossing to let the conductor get off, we can see the American flag at the fire station, thus my question or comment "under freedom's flag"?! Often times, the local will stop on the east end of the siding for lunch here "in small town America"--- where one day we stopped for gas and there was a Harley and a John Deer tractor filling up! Or maybe they had only stopped for a burger and fries! Remember to take the time to stop and to enjoy the simple "everyday things" while they and/ or we are still here and still "free" and able to do so! For come tomorrow, they or we might no longer be here!
a beautiful day in the northland and the tree covered sandstone hills of west central Wisconsin!

Two red and white Soo GP38-2s bring a small freight towards Shoreham to do some local worb.
A cold morning at Humboldt reveals an awesome surprise, my first encounter with a Soo SD60 since they've been stored. Thankfully CP is putting a few of them back into service. An added bonus was that there was only red and white Soo power working Humboldt Yard too.
