CN road unit at the former Iowa Northern Bryant Yard in Waterloo.
This time, Train 562 pushes way back into the yard in this view looking north from Biggar Road.
Here's Train 562 again. After catching a ship on the canal, I was a little surprised to hear the train approaching the Welland River bridge - a good 2 km from the yard.
The formidable face of an EMD SD70M-2. I thought this was the last I would see of this train, and headed over to the canal just as the cargo ship ALGOMA CONVEYOR was sailing by.
Back...back...back...
First the train pulls forward to cross Canby Street, but very shortly pushes back into the yard.
CN Train 562 goes to work breaking down Train 421.

CN 8821 was leading NS train 168 and had a whole gaggle of neat power. The train was also way late arriving into town and had been tied down near the TRRA Yard for a few hours. I barely made it over in time catch just rosters of the train.
Past the old Broadway crossing tower.
This is not the usual GEVO.
The daily mixer crosses the Cal-Sag. Those bridges are huge.

CN ore train pulls 215 cars out of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI past a CN local waiting to enter the yard on 5 May '14. Ore train had four locomotives, CN 5542, BCOL 4651, CN 8821, and CN 2007. Local was returning to the yard after servicing several industries in the Twin Cities of Menasha and Neenah.
The motive power of a 215-car CN ore train spans half the width of this small industrial island as it slowly backs into the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI via former joint MILW/SOO rails at Menasha, WI on 5 May '14. This ore train crawled through Menasha up to the swing bridge over the Fox River Navigation Canal and after a momentary pause on the bridge, it reversed to back into the Neenah yard. Train had four locomotives, CN 5542, BCOL 4651, CN 8821, and CN 2007.

CN ore train crosses the Menasha Channel of the Fox River via former joint MILW/ SOO bridge and approaches the junction with the former C&NW mainline as it crawls through Menasha, WI pulling 215 ore cars on 5 May '14. It pulled up as far as the swing bridge over the Fox River Navigation Canal, halted, then reversed to back into the former SOO yard at Neenah. Train had four locomotives, CN 5542, BCOL 4651, CN 8821, and CN 2007. I am left to wonder if there has ever been this much horsepower on this line.
CN through freight approaches Towmen Rd. as it crosses over from the former SOO rails to the former C&NW rails while heading northeast with 216 ore cars at Shawano Junction, WI (formerly Fox River Junction) on 30 Apr.
