PRR 2333, EF-25, 1965 |
| Description: |
Huntingdon. Here is an original telephoto view that I took just East of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, in October of 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2333, #2536, and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2333 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in February of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower, while #2536 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in February of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train down a straight stretch in the Juniata River Valley to Enola and points East. |

Birmingham. Here is an original photo that I took near Union Furnace, Pennsylvania, in April of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6016, #2536, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #6016 is an SD-35 built by GM-EMD in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2536 is a U-25B built by General Electric in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train. Note the "ribbon rail" placed between the tracks, ready for future installation. |
