| Long before an SD40-2 unit wore the number B&O #7612, this massive 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive had the honor to wear the number. Built by Baldwin in 1944 as BO 7612 (serial #70074), it was much later renumbered BO 662 to make room for the diesels joining the roster. The massive loco met the scrapper's torch in 1958.
