| Built by Baldwin in the latter years of steam locomotive construction of 1944 was B&O 2-8-8-4 #657. Originally it was BO #7607 (serial #70069), it was renumbered in 1956 to make room for diesels on the roster. The massive locomotive was scrapped two years later in 1958. - Specs - EM-1 class, 64" drivers, impressive 235 psi boiler pressure, four 24x32" cylinders, massive engine weight of 628,700 lb, impressive tractive effort of 115,000 lb.
