PRR 6835, M-1, 1956
MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Raymond J. Muller that was taken in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, in October of 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6835 and another locomotive whose road number is not recorded. Both are Class "M" (4-8-2) "Mountains." #6835 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in March of 1957 after 31 years of faithful service. They're passing through the Duncannon Passenger Station with an iron-ore train bound for the steel mills of Western Pennsylvania. ("Stoneborobranch"; #24 of 56)
