BO 2-6-6-4 #7707 - Baltimore & Ohio  Contributor's Pick!       
This 1937 Baldwin built articulated 2-6-6-4 was originally built as Seaboard Air Line #2507 but sold to the B&O in 1947. The RRPA data base does not have a choice for a Baldwin 2-6-6-4 so the 2-6-6-2 option was chosen. Specs - SAL class R-2, B&O class KB-1a, 69" drivers, impressive 230 psi boiler pressure, 22/30" cylinders, engine weight of 480,000 lb, tractive effort of 82,280 lb. The date is approximate.
