| PGH-ALT-63. Here is an original photo that I took after riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Pittsburgh to Altoona on 08 September 1963. Shown here (F to R) are PRR engines #8669 and #8671. Both are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. They are pulling a 94-car mixed-cargo freight train past the Altoona Passenger Station on their way to Enola and points East. Visible at the right are the last three cars of my passenger train as they depart for Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and New York City. Also visible is the 17th Street Bridge in the distance.
