WM 2-8-8-2 #914 - Western Maryland  Contributor's Pick!       
WM #914 is an excellent example of the first order for Mallets that Lima ever built back in 1915. This and subsequent orders established Lima as a important locomotive builder in league with Baldwin and Alco. Specifics - L1 class, 52" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" high pressure cylinders, 40x30" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 506,500 lb,impressive tractive effort of 97,877 lb. No location was given for the photo but the twin water towers sets the locaiton at the Hagerstown yard. Date is approximate. No photographer
