| BN, and subsequently, BNSF, have tried fuel tenders at various times. BNs effort in the 80s was to extend the distances between fueling stops, and modified several tanks so they could fuel while en route. One of the tender sets is pulling this 66 car eastbound through Hoffman Av as it starts down the river toward La Crosse. As an added bonus, the leader is one of the BN tiger stripe units. The power is otherwise notable in that the two GP 50's and cabless B30-7A represent common road power in the era before 6 axle units took over everything. |
