| BN SW1000 583 at about Archer and Western Avenues in Brighton Park on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois on December 21, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. By coincidence I'm sure, this is an all ex-CB&Q consist, Number 583 was built in June 1966 as CB&Q 9319, number 231 was built in September 1955 as CB&Q 9273, and caboose 10119 was built in September 1967 as CB&Q waycar (no cabooses on the CB&Q) 13651. This location was the last manually-controlled crossing within the City of Chicago. |
