| BN NW2 555 and SW7 116 at Kansas City Missouri on an unknown day in April 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 555 was built in February 1949 as CB&Q TR2B 9404B (c/n 6571). During 1954 the CB&Q sent the TR2B's back to EMD for cabs, and they returned as NW2's with the then-current cab design featuring retangular windows over the hood. Unlike the TR2A's (re-classed as NW2's) which retained their as-built arched cab windows and two-step hood taper to the cab, the former TR2B's had a single taper to the cab. |
