| Delivered to Penn Central as GP38-2 7993 in July 1972 becoming Conrail 7993 until lease expiration when this unit was returned to EMD. With a large number of former PC/CR GP38-2s on their hands EMD made these units available for lease, this one becoming EMDX 793 operating in Conrail blue with EMD and GM logos. In 1997 this locomotive was sold to Union Pacific and became UP 1936 then 436 in November 2001 then was retired in May 2003 and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners becoming LLPX 2318. Today this GP38-2 is part of the GATX Lease pool working as GMTX 2180. |
