CSXT (B&O) GP40-2 6150
CSXT (B&O) GP40-2 6150 on the BN at Clyde, Illinois on February 5, 1988, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as B&O 4251 in February 1977 (c/n 767034-5) it appears to be B&O 6150, although it is likely CSXT 6150. This is a GP40-2, based on further discussion with Patrick Smith, see Comments below. A couple of sources indicate that the turbocharger may be de-activated and the unit de-rated to 2200 horsepower to get around some emission standards. However, this did not occur until at least sometime in the 2000's.

Jim Bruce General Nice shot!! and this is a CSXT GP40-2, BO units were in the 4200-4450 series. 9/27/2010 5:46:19 PM
Patrick Smith General The GP38-2S is a derating program done by CSX in the mid to late 2000s. The units are derated to 2,000 HP by installing smaller fuel pumps and adjusting the rack position. They still retain their turbochargers and sound the same to the ear. 8/30/2015 9:09:43 PM
Patrick Smith General The reason for the derating is supposedly to improve fuel efficiency and maybe (?) reliability, though I'd say the GP40-2 is about as reliable as they come! 8/30/2015 9:11:29 PM
