Continental Grain 724
This Continental Grain Alco S2 was built as serial no. 73600 in July 1945 as Rock Island 724. Still wearing its original number, it was used at Continental's Westwego Elevator. The elevator was severely damaged by a grain dust explosion on 22 December 1977 and was subsequently rebuilt, but by that time the 724 had moved on and was known to have been used by Continental at Milwaukee.
