| The builder's plate on El Dorado & Wesson S1 No. 19 identified this loco as Alco serial number 69385, built in December 1940. It was originally Messena Terminal 8, one of 15 S1's built under shop order E-1816 (serial nos. 69378-69392) between October 1940 and January 1941. S1 production began in May 1940, so this was a very early example of this model. |
