Built in 1949 by P-S in Lot #6790 to Plan #4123 as NYC 10RM-6DB sleeper #10223 SCIOTO RIVER, 1 of 97 such cars (#10140-#10236) built in that Lot; part of an order for 200 cars placed by NYC in December 1945; the 97 10-6 sleepers were delivered between September 1948 and March 1949. The SCIOTO RIVER was 1 of 20 of these sleepers sold in 1965 to CN as #2075-#2094; the SCIOTO RIVER as CN #2092 HAY RIVER. VIA Rail sold the #2092 in 1982 to Excursion Lines Limited, and the car was later acquired by the New Georgia RR as the #2000. Tom Whitted acquired the car at the New Georgia auction, and rebuilt the car to a 6DB-1RM sleeper buffet lounge as the PALMETTO STATE.
