Description:  A train of covered hoppers going north at Bowest, led by the recently rebuilt HD40-2 combination of engines. This is not really the shot I wanted but I ran out of time because a portion of the nearby Sheepskin Trail had been moved by the contractors rebuilding the Bowest Yard.

SWP 406 and 4006
Title:  SWP 406 and 4006
Description:  Light engine movement going north at Bowest, towards CSX and Connellsville. It is a good thing they were not pulling anything because this is a going away shot and the light was best for that. The leaves have been stripped from the trees by days of heavy storms and winds. And now we get the nice weather.

SWP 3503
Title:  SWP 3503
Description:  An empty sand train that has run out of crew time in Hunker, PA at the switch for the branch that goes off to Yukon, PA. You can see how much the grade drops off on that track. The six total engines on this train are SWP 3503, SWP 3501, CN 2508, CN 2264, NS 8822, and NS 9756.

SWP Sand Empties On CSX
Title:  SWP Sand Empties On CSX
Description:  SWP 3503, SWP 3501, CN 2508, CN 2264, NS 8822, and NS 9756 running westbound past the Connellsville CSX Yard on their way back to the SWP Railroad's own rails a few miles away. 3503 and 3501 were the rear helpers when the train was full, and it was easier to put all the power on one end to bring the train back from Smithfield, PA.

SWP 4006
Title:  SWP 4006
Description:  At 6:11 in the morning the SWP Railroad is already out and about, doing a rare movement of a stone train on the barely-used Bullskin Branch. This is the fourth bridge over Mounts Creek when the train is coming from this direction. For many decades the only trains loaded on this dead-end spur were coal trains. This is the second of what are supposed to be five stone trains.

Description:  A loaded stone train that came off the Bullskin Branch to the left is now being shoved back a few miles to Ownensdale where the train will be picked up by the W&LE Railroad. It is great to see three red SWP engines working together at once.
