Album Info:Canadian Pacific steals the spotlight from Canadian National this month. I spent most of my time working my old stomping grounds around Port Robinson, Welland, and CN Southern Yard. It's my first series in a long time with no pics from Fort Erie of Norfolk Southern trains at the USA/Canada border. And despite the rather unfavorable weather in late October, I was able to get a few shots with some fall colors on my last outings of the month.

Description:  While at Port Robinson CN Yard, I picked up on my scanner that there was a freight transfer going on not too far south at CN Southern Yard. I got there just in time to catch the train leaving the yard - behind two very snappy-looking CP GEEP rebuilds. I didn't know it at the time, but this train would become my Train of the Month, with four more photo shoots to follow this very rewarding morning catch.

Description:  While at Port Robinson CN Yard, I picked up on my scanner that there was a freight transfer going on not too far south at CN Southern Yard. Description:  While driving on the QEW Highway, from the railroad overpass, I was able to see CP Train 255 coming my way, and got to the Pettit Road Crossing just in time for a few pics - with a little fall color to spice things up. If you look closely, you can see the old signal rack where all the tracks diverge at the west end of CN Duff Yard.

Description:  Sister Dash-8s, both built in March 1990, have just finished switching cars for Train 531 at Port Robinson Yard. It's always cool for me when I see two diesels with consecutive road numbers. In their vast pool of locomotives, what is the likelihood of these two CN engines (that very likely rolled off the assembly line together almost 30 years ago, and have probably traversed a good part of the USA and Canada) finding themselves back to back once again - this time in Port Robinson.
