Description:  Amtrak Train No. 20, the northbound CRESCENT, nears the north end of the Lake Pontchartrain trestle. The train consisted of F40 259, a baggage car, baggage-dormitory car, four coaches, 10-6 sleeper, and diner. When the photo was taken, the old swing span had already been replacd with a lift bridge; but the replacement of the wooden trestle with concrete spans hadn't happened yet.
