Leaving Toledo via Patch crew
Rare sighting. On Thursday night, the Toledo Hauler derailed between MP 699 and 701.1. A few cars towards the head end were derailed and the train was unable to proceed. The crews took the power and brought it into Corvallis for storage. All the diesels in the yard idled overnight because of freezing temperatures.

Did you know there's a P&W on the West Coast? Well... Now you do! The Portland & Western, now like its east coast "cousin," is a G&W short-line based out of the Portland/Vancouver area. On a really crappy Afternoon in Vancouver the seasonal weather doesn't disappoint as P&W 633 (running as F PWVAAB1 19T on BNSF) round the curve at Vancouver's Amtrak Station about to cross the Columbia River Bridge into Portland with a trio of orange geeps. Thanks to the orange EMDs and some colorful #SCE I managed to capture a color other than grey while foaming that day.
I've bden seeing this beautifully symetrical set, with its interestingly faded SF heritage schemes, running back and forth through Portland for a couple of weeks now. This is the first time I've managed to catch it wkth my camera though.
A quartest of PNWR GP39s heads into Portland while railfans of all stripes wait for SP 4449 to return from its wye turnaround at the north end of the city.

PWRR 2307 - PWRR 2314 - PWRR 2316 headed into the middle of the northern end of BNSF sort yard - given a short period of time, 2307 will likely be the new southbound head-end going back home. (So the sign at their shop is wrong? It's actually PNWR?)

After being wyed, 2311 backs over to the OE yard to snag a couple other geeps to bring back.
PNWR's train 664 arrives light in Vancouver in front of the station as it waits to enter the yard.
Portland & Western doesn't own any rails into Wathington, but has trackage rights on BNSF into Vancouver for interchange traffic.
