Description:  Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 19 June 1962. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8635 and #8630. Both are AS-18M's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. They are pulling a southbound mixed-cargo freight train through the North Philadelphia Passenger Station.

Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8504 and #8630. #8504 is an ES-15M built by GM-EMD in August of 1952 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #8630 is an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in February of 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. Description:  Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine House in Morrisville, New Jersey, in July of 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9606, #8630, #8632, and another "AF" Class unit whose road number is recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9606 is an AF-15 constructed in March of 1950, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965. #8630 and #8632 are AS-18M's built in February of 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each.
