Description:  TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, during March of 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5850 and another "EP" Class unit whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5850 was built in August of 1947. They are pulling a 14-car passenger train across the Bridge on their way to Altoona, Pittsburgh, and points West.

Shown here is the trusty turntable on the left. Beyond it are dozens of locomotives in various states of repair: from work almost finished to being cannibalized. Many makes and models are represented. Parked next to an unidentified Baldwin "Shark" in the foreground is PRR engine #5850, an EP-20 built by EMD in 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower.

Visible on the same track to the left are PRR engines #5850 and #7071. #5850 is an EP-20 built by EMD in 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. #7071 is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. Further to the right is PRR engine #8987, a BS-12 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in 1951 and rated at 1,200 horsepower.

Description:  24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1963. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5850, #5803, and #5849. All were built by EMD. #5850 and #5849 are EP-20's built in 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5803 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge and will shortly stop at the Altoona Passenger Station for a crew change with a 27-car mail/express train. The famous Brick Plant is visible in the right center of the photo.
