Stumbled across the main shops by accident while traveling US 422
A road slug is one of three switchers leaving the B&P Railroad facility in Butler PA. This has a very significant history. Built as CO 5955 (GP9) and later became WM 5955 (GP9) when Chessie took over the Western Maryland. Later moved on as HHLC 172 when it became a road slug. In the background is an idling SD40-3.
Idling at the south end of the B&P Railroads locomotive facility in Butler, PA. This is one of their Operation LIfesaver engines but the decal is so small Im not sure how it get anyones attention. This was built as CN 5089 (SD40) in May 1969. Later became KCS 6603/3129/3139 (SD40-3). I do not know why KCS had to renumber it three times. Acquired by B&P in 2012.
