| RR City. Here is an original photo that I took of in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 April 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8609, #8610, and #8606. All are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,400 horsepower each. #8609 and #8610 were built in January of 1956, but #8606 was built one month earlier. They're pulling the 18-car "Railroad City Limited" into the Altoona Passenger Station after completing their sojourn around the Muleshoe and Horseshoe Curves. Partially visible at the right is the 12th Street Footbridge. |
