| Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 #638 started out as CNW #1638 (serial #62704, class E), built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921. The loco was upgraded with an added stoker in 1943, a Walschaert valve gear added in 1947 and renumbered in 1951-52 to CNW #638. It was last listed on the 10/1/1952 before disappearing, presumedly scrapped. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now part of my rr collection. |
