CNW 4-6-2 #629 - Chicago & North Western
Still looking like its going strong is Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 #629 built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921 originally as CNW #1629. It went through several upgrades including an added stoker in 1942 and converted to a Walschaert valve gear in 1945. In 1951-52, CNW dropped the initial #1" so it became CNW #629. It was last seen on the roster in 10/1/1952. Obviously it lasted until at least 1955! No photographer was listed for this photo which is now part of my rr collection.
