| Still wearing the dark black shroud paint scheme, New Jersey Transit GG1 #4873 sails past Harrisonr, NJ. The GG1's at one time were the most powerful commuter locomotive built. Typical timetable speeds were 75-80 mph until October of 1967. Then some GG1's were allowed to run at 100 mph making it one of the premier early high speed locos in the US. This is an M.G. Lovis slide now in my collection. |
