| The dark skies give an ominous look to the New Jersey Transit loco U34CH #4153. This commuter transit locomotive was originally built by GE in October of 1970 as Erie Lackawanna U34CH #3353, part of the NJDOT funding for passenger rail service. It then moved over to the Conrail roster when EL went under. From there it moved to the New Jersey Dept. of Transportation (NJDOT) and then the spin-off New Jersey Transit corporation. The color slide was by M. G. Lovis and is now in my collection. |
