| MILW 4-6-2 Pacific #803 does not have much longer to serve as it will be retired in about a year from this photo date. Originally built by Alco-Brooks in April of 1912 as CMStP 4-6-2 #1525 (2nd one -serial #51137, class F-5), it would be renumbered several times - in in 1912 to CMStP 6303 > then CMStPP 6303 > finally in June of 1938 to MILW 803 as seen here. The loco was retired 9/1951. Rebuilt specs - 73" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 253,000 lb and tractive force of 40,753 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my collection. |
