NYC 0-8-0 #4309 - New York Central         
Alco-Schenectady built this beefy 0-8-0 yard switcher in May of 1924 as NYC #4309 (serial #65507, class U-3e). In 1936, the loco was renumbered NYC 0-8-0 #7909. After 28 years of service, the switcher was retired in July of 1952 and eventually sold for scrap in September of 1952. Specs - 53" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 219,500 lb and tractive force of 50,060 lb. The photo comes from the C.P. Munch collection and now is in my collection.
