A702s caboose or shoving platform. You can see the Chessie System safty logo bleeding thru the CSX paint. Also notice the horn on the rear of the shoving platform. He did back up after doing a set out and pick up and yes the horn blew while backing up.

12:19pm: Crew members ride CSX shoving platform 900423 as it “leads” a local train of 4 tank cars southbound past the renovated Southern freight depot, a MOW worker, and new not-yet-operating signals.

"Clear to shove 428 cars..." The Dalton Local, CSX A702, shoves all the way back from Rocky Face.

This is a new one on me - the caboose rides the end of the train, the caboose goes extinct, the caboose ends up as a shoving platform on the local switcher. What is the purpose for this?

The CSX local in Dalton uses this as a shoving platform when switching there and toward Rocky Face, Ga.
