Title:  3rd Hot Metal Bottle Car - INLX #145
Description:  The third hot metal bottle car returning to the East Chicago steel plant is INLX #145. Cars like this bottle car feature steel over an inch thick with a 20 1/2-inch thick refractory brick lining to keep iron molten for up to 24 hours. They were equipped with roller bearings inside specialized journal boxes to protect them from molten metal splashes.
