After completing the station work at Portage, the train continues it's journey to Chicago.
Amtrak got into what was once called express, moving packages and other items on its trains for several years in the 80s and 90s. They used these special box cars on high speed trucks. This one is on the eastbound Lake Shore at Pittsfield Mass
The eastbound Lake Shore rolls into Pittsfield Mass on a snowy December day. It was fairly close to on time, too.
