Central of Georgia pooled two E8’s (811 and 812) with the Illinois Central for the Seminole and City of Miami passenger trains. Originally, the Central units were painted in the blue-gray livery with orange pin stripes and wing. There are photos of Central of Georgia E8’s pulling IC passenger trains across Iowa in this blue-gray paint job. Eventually they were repainted the IC chocolate and orange but the heralds carried “Central of Georgia” vice “Illinois Central”.

Was this unit painted to match Illinois Central equipment, or was it purchased from the IC, and just relettered?
