WILLIAMS STATION DAY

Atmore, Alabama’s very first WILLIAMS STATION DAY event was held along the CSX on 24 October 1992. The equipment on display along the CSX included Amtrak F40 242, Superliner coach 34058 and coach/baggage 31011, CSX exhibit car 10 WEST VIRGINIA and Burlington Northern SD60M 1991. Williams Station was the original name of Atmore, before it was renamed in honor of Charles P. Atmore, general passenger agent for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad in Louisville in 1897.
